Third Sunday after Pentecost

How might we paraphrase the metaphor of the kingdom of God? What about the dream of God? Like a mother who has great dreams for her child, God has dreams for us. Or the revolution of God? God seeks to overturn the world of power, lust, racism, nationalism, consumerism, and greed. The mission of God? God is at work and calls us to be agents of that same work. The party of God? Jesus compared the kingdom to feasts and banquets. We could talk about the story of God that invites people to become good characters, the school of God that calls us to learn as students, the symphony of God in which all of us play our unique parts.

Plymouth Pulpit - Grace for the Disgraceful |
The grace God offers the disgraceful is the grace God offers us. God, who looks at people who do evil and sees children worth loving, believes we are worth loving, too.
