The Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, businesses, small municipalities and other eligible recipients to improve accessibility and safety for people with disabilities through capital costs projects which include construction, renovation and/or retrofit activities and the provision of accessible technologies in workplaces and community spaces across Canada.

The EAF 2017 Call for Proposals includes a Workplace Accessibility and a Community Accessibility funding stream. The program will be accepting funding applications until July 26, 2017.

The SCONA Seniors Center is seeking a registered social worker whose responsibility it will be to provide opportunities for seniors to build a lasting, effective social network. This will be achieved through the planning and delivery of age appropriate programs and activities.

Qualifications
Diploma or degree of Social Work; proof of registration with the ACSW is required or must be obtained within the three month probationary period; understanding of the changing needs of seniors as they age and the implications of isolation and living in poverty; experience in program/activity planning and delivery; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; gregarious, compassionate, patient, approachable, assertive; creative thinker, flexible, strong team player, clear personal and professional boundaries; ability to work independently in a fast paced environment; ability to lift and carry 25 pounds. Valid driver's license, proof of liability insurance in the amount of $2,000,000, clear driver's abstract, and a criminal record check are required.

This is a one year term position that will be extended dependent upon funding. The competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.

The Seniors' Centre Without Walls (SCWW) provides opportunities for isolated and homebound seniors to socialize, learn new skills and stay connected through a variety of free, interactive telephone-based social and health programming. The Program Assistant will support SCWW program activities, administrative tasks and data collection. This includes developing programming materials, registering new participants, data entry, conducting phone interviews, and running recreational programming throughout the week.

Qualifications

• Diploma related to public health, recreation and wellness or social sciences is an asset
• Experience in general administrative duties including data collection, preparing routine correspondence and general office procedures
• Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly, Access, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
• Demonstrate an understanding of the aging population skills to effectively motivate and facilitate participation in recreational programming
• Group facilitation and active listening skills an asset
• Understand the Alberta privacy laws and act according to those laws.
• Should behave responsibly, be accountable and have excellent, problem solving/critical thinking skills.

The Attention and Action Lab at the University of Alberta is looking for licensed drivers over the age of 50 to participate in a study on driving and cognitive behavior.
