LAKEVIEW EAST WINE & SWEETS STROLL

The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce has partnered with three of our local wine shops  wineHouse Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine, and Stellar Wine Company to put on the 2nd Annual Lakeview East Wine & Sweets Stroll on July  16th  from 3 - 6pm. 

Wine distributors from these three wine shops will be sampling their wines inside retail businesses throughout Lakeview East. Sweets shops in the neighborhood will also be sampling sweets and treats along the routes. The Wine & Sweets Stroll will feature two routes (North & South), you can select either route or both for double the fun! 

Each route is $25/person or you can select both routes for $40 ! With the purchase of a Wine & Sweets Stroll ticket you will receive a  wine sampling glass over 24 different wine samples delicious local sweets  and  two Laugh Factory tickets . Enjoy  exclusive retail discounts  only offered to participants during the event. Must be 21 or older! 

Wine distributors include Glunz Wines, h2vino, VineJoy, Heritage Wine Cellars, Vintage Wines and more!  No ticket refunds will be given.

WHERE CAN PEDESTRIANS CROSS THE PARADE ROUTE?
There are nine pedestrian cross-over intersections to assist pedestrians to cross the parade route safely.
 
Montrose Ave. at Broadway
Irving Park Rd. at Broadway
Grace St. at Halsted St.
Addison St. at Halsted St.
Roscoe St. at Halsted St.
Wellington Ave. at Broadway
Aldine Street at Halsted St.
Cornelia Ave at Halsted St.
Barry Ave. at Broadway

At each corner of the streets listed above there will be police officers assigned to assist pedestrians to cross the parade route.

$1000 PUBLIC ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION FINE
Alcohol consumption should not take place along the parade route. Drinking on the public way will result in tickets and/or fines

ROOFTOP & BALCONY PARTY WARNING
Rooftop parties will not be allowed on the parade route during the Pride Parade or after the parade. In addition, balconies and porches will not be occupied past capacity and items are nt to be thrown from balconies and porches onto the street. 

PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Both the Assembly Area and Parade Route (listed above) will be posted with temporary signs indicating "NO PARKING ON SUNDAY JUNE 25, 2017, FROM 5:00 AM TO 8:00 PM. - Both sides of the street." The following streets will have parking restrictions:

Montrose Ave. - Greenview Ave. to Hazel St.
Broadway St. - Leland Ave. to Grace St.
Sunnyside Ave. - Broadway St. to North Sheridan Rd.
Halsted St. - Grace St. to to Belmont Ave.
Belmont Ave. - Sheffield Ave. to Broadway St.
Broadway St. - Belmont Ave. to Diversey Pkwy.
Diversey Pkwy. - Broadway St. to Cannon Dr. (Sheridan)
Cannon Dr. - Diversey Pkwy. to Fullerton Pkwy.
Addison St. - 736 W. Addison St. to Sheffield Ave.
Waveland Ave. - Halsted St. to Broadway St.
Grace St. - Halsted St. to Fremont St.

MINIMUM WAGE UPDATE
City of Chicago
 
The minimum wage for non-tipped  employees in the City of Chicago increases to $11.00 per hour  July 1, 2017. The new minimum wage rate for tipped employees starting July 1, 2017 is  $6.10 per hour

FIT BODY BOOTCAMP CELEBRATES PRIDE

Fit Body Boot Camp is hosting a pride-themed workout this Saturday the 24th. They will have three sessions at 8:15am, 9am, and 9:45am where guest are encouraged to dress in their best pride attire, suitable to workout in. These three sessions will be free and open to the public, all that's required is a $5 donation that will go to the Human Rights Campaign. Each month Fit Body Boot Camp chooses a charity to support and in June it's the Human Rights Campaign.

IRISH OAK PARADE AFTER PARTY

Pride doesn't stop after the parade! This Sunday, the Irish Oak is throwing a Pride Party in support of the Trevor Project starting at 1pm. Expect rainbow bombs and great music! They'll be raffling some exciting prizes to benefit this cause.
