Congratulations to all 2016-2017 MEM Graduates!
Program Celebrates the Graduation of 40 Students 
 
2016-2017 MEM Graduates
 
Graduation featured two amazing speakers, headlined on Friday, June 16th with tennis icon and LGBTQIA advocate, Billie Jean King, delivering remarks to all university graduates at Northwestern's 159th Commencement. Saturday, June 17 featured Bob Gariano, founder of nationally recognized search firm Robert Gariano Associates, who spoke at the McCormick Professional MS ceremony.  Following the official ceremonies MEM graduates and guests celebrated at the Crystal Ballroom with a reception and dinner which featured comments from MEM Director, Mark Werwath, Professor Barry Nelson, and student representatives, Vignesh Ramasamy and Tai Olson.

Graduation Rock Painting Hosted by Student Advisory Board
Annual Graduation Tradition for Family and Alumni 
 
 
The MEM 2017 graduates had their celebration festivities on June,10th by leaving their mark on a Northwestern lakefill rock. Over 30 students, alumni and family participated in the painting, picnic session and BBQ.

Look for upcoming SAB and MEM sponsored events including a Cubs game on September 12th and the annual PriSim Football Tailgate on September 16th! 
 
MEM Webinar on Agile Management with Jay Goldstein 
MEM Organizes Professional Development Opportunity 
 
 
   
Jay Goldstein , MEM Industry Advisory Board member and founder of Jabbok River Group, a Chicago-based Agile training and coaching consultancy,  hosted a webinar discussion on Wednesday, June 7.
The presentation was a great introduction to Agile Management, and a topic discussed throughout several courses in the MEM curriculum and electives.

Dean Julio M. Ottino Receives Prestigious Gordon Prize
Award Ceremony Took Place on May 30

Whole-Brain Engineering , the principle guiding strategy for Northwestern Engineering for more than a decade, has transformed the school and dramatically increased connections between engineering and the rest of the University and outside partners. 
 
In honor of developing this new philosophy for engineering education, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) presented Dean Julio M. Ottino with the 2017 Bernard M. Gordon Prize for Innovation in Engineering and Technology Education. Established in 2001, the Gordon Prize is the nation's highest honor for engineering education.  Read more .

Monthly Feature Recognizing Our Amazing Alumni
 
Growing up in Highland Park, IL, Annette Johnston received a Bachelor of Art degree in Chemistry from Knox College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After working several years in the healthcare industry, she decided to advance her education and completed her MEM degree in 2013. Annette is currently a Senior Project Manager at Abbott Laboratories, and strongly believes that a degree from Northwestern's MEM Program has strengthened her career. Read more on our blog
