Direct Support Professional Needed

Company Description
Hatikvah House is a lovely Jewish home for six adults with developmental disabilities located in Campbell, CA. We are a state licensed, level 3, staff-operated, residential program providing services and support within an environment that embraces Jewish values and traditions. This includes a kosher kitchen, Shabbat observance, and celebration of the Jewish holidays, including a huge annual Hanukkah party. Each resident participates in a structured schedule of activities that is responsive to their needs, choices and preferences as described in their individual needs and services plan. Our purpose is to support residents in achieving their individual goals and objectives, while maintaining a link with their families and community.

Job Description
The direct support professional will work closely with the Administrator in carrying out the individual program plans for residents in the Hatikvah residential home, preparing them to live independently upon graduation. This will include assisting teaching them reading, math, budgeting and money management, the use of community resources, hygiene and laundry skills, food preparation, house keeping, kitchen safety and maintenance, and travel training in the community. Additional duties may be designated by the Administrator or the Assistant House Manager.

Additional Opportunities
One resident, Steven, would like a Jewish friend to spend time with monthly outside of the Hatikvah House. Additionally, young Jewish adults are wanted to come socialize and speak about Jewish holidays!
