Ports Initiative
EPA's Ports Initiative works in collaboration with the port industry, communities, and all levels of government to improve environ-mental performance and increase economic prosperity. This effort helps people living and working near ports across the country breathe cleaner air and live better lives. EPA is considering recom-mendations from the Clean Air Act Advisory
 Committee
 and others to guide the development of this program.

This webinar is part of the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA's) Talking Freight Seminar series and will provide an overview of EPA's Ports Initiative.  Additionally, an update  will be presented  on efforts underway to: 1) help build technical tools to ensure smart infrastructure investments, and 2) to promote port-community collaboration to prioritize and advance clean air projects.

This presentation will describe opportunities and challenges for port authorities as they work to address air pollution and how EPA's Ports Initiative can support their efforts.

Partnership with Port Everglades to Improve Port Emissions Analysis
This presentation will describe EPA's partnership with Broward County's Port Everglades to develop a baseline emissions inventory and analyze emissions reduction strategies.  The partnership will also inform EPA's development of methods, lessons learned, and practical examples that can be shared with other ports, related agencies, and stakeholders.

Partnership in New Orleans to Promote Community-Port Collaboration
This presentation will provide an overview of a pilot project with the Port of New Orleans and local community organizations to improve community and port engagement. EPA's collaboratively-developed draft capacity building tools will be utilized and refined to assess local conditions, support partnership building, and enhance capacity for ports and nearby communities to interact effectively and collaborate on environmental solutions.
