Hello Habitat Friends,
Thanks to our many great volunteers over the last few weeks, we have made incredible progress on our Henry Street home. From Mathworks in May to Fitchburg State University Alumni last week, we've had great crews and good weather to speed up our building. We now have both floors framed, insulation begun, and siding ready to be added. We've scheduled a mid-build celebration for July 21st at 10 a.m. with our building partners EXIT New Options and EXIT Assurance Realty and hope you all can join us to celebrate this progress!
Our Local Project Committee in Stow has been hard at work planning for our build on Pine Point. The permit application has been finalized, local Boards and Committees are involved, and the fundraising has begun (with a huge thank you to the town for allocating $150,000 in CPA funds to get us half way there!). Our next step is to submit the full application to the state which will kick off the process for permitting. We're looking forward to our first building project in Stow!
Our critical home repair program continues to ramp up with five applications received in the last few weeks, and the repair project in Gardner wrapping up this past weekend. Our gratitude to First Church in Sterling for fundraising and for excellent volunteers for this program! We'll be in Maynard next and then Fitchburg, helping to maintain the affordable houses that exist already in our communities.
Summer is a busy time for building which means our funding needs increase in the next few months. We've included a link below so if you are able, please consider donating to us this summer to help keep us in nails and 2x4's for the busy building season!
A big thank you to Rollstone Bank, DCU, Avidia Bank, McCarty Companies, and DMH Electric for jumping on as sponsors for our 4th annual Building Dreams Golf Tournament. We still have sponsorships available so click below to learn more AND to sign up to golf. Hope to see you there!
Enjoy the wonderful summer weather and thank you for your support for Habitat NCM!
