CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Airfield Construction
The rain has temporarily subsided in the Central Texas region and construction crews are making substantial progress on the runway reconstruction.

The upcoming weeks will focus on finishing electrical work. Paving is expected to begin on Tuesday, August 4.

We'll be sending out a special email regarding the next phase of construction as soon as we have the dates firmed up.

Please continue to check NOTAMs.

Entrance Construction
Crews will be paving the widened section of the entrance tomorrow, July 22. This work should not disrupt the flow of traffic, but please use caution when navigating the area.

On Friday, July 24, the remaining width of the entrance will be paved. Starting at 7:00pm, the entrance will be narrowed to one lane. Crews will be on site directing traffic and work should be completed by 3:00am on Saturday morning.

The final lift of asphalt will not be laid until the end of the project to avoid damage from construction equipment.

AOPA CENTRAL SOUTHWEST
Did you know that AOPA has a network of key staff who focus on promoting GA in the regions they serve?

For San Marcos, part of the Central Southwest region, that means that our advocacy falls into the very capable hands of Yasmina Platt. Yasmina has been a huge proponent of KHYI and has gone above and beyond to help promote the airport and it's benefit to the community.

Regional Managers like Yasmina can also be a valuable resource for pilots. Check out the Central Southwest webpage for information on everything from new legislation to fun places to fly!

San Marcos Regional Airport is professionally managed by Texas Aviation Partners. Visit our website for more information or call (512) 216-6042.
