CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Airfield Construction
This week, the contractors have laid over 1,000 tons of asphalt on Taxiway Juliet and Runway 13/31.

Due to yesterday and today's rains, progress has been slowed. We anticipate P hase I to be complete toward the end of next week.

Once the paving is finished, contractors will move to Phase 2 which encompasses the intersection of Runways 13/31 and 8/26. The anticipated start date for Phase 2 is September 3rd.

In an effort to minimize the amount of time two runways are closed at once, the crews will focus on the intersection only and expect completion will take approximately five (5) days.

We will send out a special newsletter with an updated closure map and confirmed schedule next week.

The new anticipated completion date for the project is the beginning of October.

Please continue to check NOTAMs.

Entrance Construction
Paving of the entrance is 90% complete.  The final lift of asphalt will not be laid until the end of the project to avoid damage from construction equipment.

Please use care when navigating the area since there is a slight bump!
CAF HANGAR DOOR REPAIRS
The Commemorative Air Force has made huge strides in the remodel and clean up of the original WWII hangar. Their latest project will prove to be the most impactful.

Repairs to the west-facing hangar doors have been underway for the past several weeks as crews remove the old lead-based paint, replace glass panes, and grease the rollers.
