Wine, Whiskers & Wags Fall Fundraising Event

What:   Wine, Whiskers & Wags is PetConnect Rescue's signature fall fundraising event. Enjoy tasting fine wines and interacting with our adoptable dogs, who will be on hand to greet the guests. A silent auction, entertainment, our specialty drinks and even a celebrity bartender will round out an evening devoted to ensuring that our rescued pets are safe and secure.

Venue:   Old Angler's Inn, built in 1860 to serve those traveling to and from the nation's capital via the C & O Canal, is the perfect setting for our early autumn event.
The glittering lights on the back patio and the delicious food are just two of the reasons PetConnect Rescue will hold its annual fundraiser here.

Stay tuned for ticket information.
In the meantime, mark your calendars!

Would You Be Willing To Donate An Auction Item?
Our Auction Item Committee is growing, but we can always use more help. We are in search of high-end items that can either be auctioned on their own or be paired with others to create an amazing package.  If you can secure even one item to contribute, that would be a huge help to us. Proceeds from the evening will benefit our animals. Below is a list of suggested items, but we welcome any ideas and suggestions:
      • Designer Jewelry and Handbags
      • Tickets to Sporting Events
      • Vacation Homes or Exciting Experiences
      • Curved Screen TV (for our raffle prize)
      • Gift Cards to Restaurants & Spas
For questions, please email Catherine at cedwards@petconnectrescue.org.

PetConnect Rescue In Action...

Do More 24 was a huge success!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our #DoMore24 campaign. We raised close to $9,000!

These funds will help sustain us through the summer months. And, we had a blast at our Vineyard Vines shopping event and Mellow Mushroom's Yappy Hour (pictured).

On June 21st, PetConnect Rescue was invited to participate in the ever popular Homeruns for Horton's Kids event at National's Park. Several of our adoptable dogs got to show off their charming personalities to kids and politicians alike.

Special thanks to all the campers at CTC Summer Fun in Clarksburg who voted to donate their carnival proceeds to PetConnect Rescue this year.

Check out those young PetConnect Rescue advocates! These kids are the rescuers of tomorrow!

Thank you for all of your hard work!

These warm summer nights have been perfect for our ever popular Yappy Hours.

On June 29th, Coal Fire Pizza in the Kentlands and Bark! Kentlands hosted a Yappy Hour in honor of PetConnect Rescue. Autumn was manning our free doggie kisses booth (pictured)!

Good fun was had by all while some of our adoptable pups charmed the crowd.

Thank you to Coal Fire and Bark! for supporting PetConnect Rescue!
PetConnect Rescue Supporter, Michael Akin, Receives Award
PetConnect Rescue congratulates Michael Akin, President of LINK Strategic Partners, on his 2017 Laura Lisner Award in recognition of his outstanding support of the Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home and his commitment to helping all senior citizens in the Washington DC area.

The Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home provides health and life care services to low and modest income seniors in Washington, DC.

Michael and Wendi celebrating
an inspiring achievement!
Michael is also counted as one of PetConnect Rescue's ardent supporters, helping us financially through the generosity of his late friend, Ronnie Hadorn, and by generously offering the services of his office to enhance our profile and outreach. We are deeply grateful for all that he has done and are thrilled to see him honored by those for whom he cares so much.

Michael and his wife, Wendi, are shown above at the home's spring fundraiser and reception where he received the award. Congratulations, Michael!
