Students hone skills through capstone projects 
Graduating students at the La Follette School of Public Affairs addressed household financial management, educational approaches for disadvantaged children, economic development strategies, and other challenging issues through the school's Workshop in Public Affairs capstone courses. Read more
Herd, others receive funding for human microbiome project
La Follette School Professor Pam Herd is a co-principal investigator on a project selected for a UW2020: WARF Discovery Initiative award. Professor Cameron Currie of the Department of Bacteriology is the principal investigator for project, The Human Microbiome in Health and Disease. Read more.
MIPA student Frankel receives foreign-language studies award
Cassie Frankel, a second-year student at the La Follette School, received a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship for the 2017-18 academic year. Frankel will use the fellowship to study Arabic through UW-Madison's Center for European Studies. Read more.
Yackee elected to organization's board
Public Management Research Association (PMRA) members have elected La Follette School Professor Susan Webb Yackee to the organization's Board of Directors. Read more.
