SUMA CEO Retiring This Fall

Last week we announced that SUMA CEO Laurent Mougeot is stepping down after 12 years. His last day will be September 22, and wheels are already turning in the search for his successor.

"Laurent has been a strong leader on the local government scene," said President Barnhart last week. "He has been an invaluable advisor and a good friend to many in the municipal world - in Canada and abroad."

We all wish Laurent the best in his retirement, and rest assured that the whole SUMA team will be here for our members and partners through the transition.

Have Your Say: Flood Risk Management Research

Flood risk management is an important consideration for SUMA members, and Alasdair Morrison, a PhD student at the University of Saskatchewan, needs your help in research on  this topic. By taking just 20-30 minutes to complete a confidential survey, you can help identify the factors that need to be considered in flood risk policy, planning and management, and in exploring options and approaches to managing flood risk.

More details on the survey are available in this email, on the project website, or by contacting Alasdair Morrison directly.
