MESSAGE FROM PASTOR TIM

Dear Friends and Members of Ark and Dove,

Thank you to Christa Kronser, Paula Sparks, Adell Gaurin and Rebecca Bell Echols  and their team and cast of children for a wonderful children's musical on Sunday.  Great music, spirited acting and a nice message; we appreciate your work.  That was at 11:00.

At 9:30, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 14th confirmation class into membership.  Hiley Green, Tory Saylor, Jennifer Taylor,  and Ashtyn Rosenthal are now full adult members of our church.  Lydia Doughty was unable to join our class because she  was recovering from heart surgery.  However, Lydia is doing so well, she was released from the hospital early, and we will receive her into membership on Sunday at 9:30.

Thank you  to the 29 individuals and families who pledged to the Transformations: Capital Savings Fund Account last Sunday.  That is a terrific start.  We appreciate your commitment to the vision of our congregation.

Next Sunday, June 25th, is a Single Service Sunday. Worship will begin at 10:30 am, and our theme is, "United We Stand: As Family We Go." Our band will present songs of unity.

This Sunday is field day during Sunday School.  Children and youth, don't forget to wear sneakers and play clothes!

Peace of Christ,
Pastor Tim

VERSE AND PRAYERS

The Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, and say, 'Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?' Is anything too wonderful for the Lord? At the set time I will return to you, in due season, and Sarah shall have a son." But Sarah denied, saying, "I did not laugh"; for she was afraid. He said, "Oh yes, you did laugh."
- Genesis 18:13-15

Procession of Prayers from Around the World

Lord, we long to speak effectively in our name, but our words come out muddled and blunted. Give us the fresh, new-minted words, that heart may speak to heart and a new day begin. (United Kingdom)

We offer you, Lord, the bustle of each day, all the energy created by our work and the enthusiasm of our eager hearts. (Nicaragua)

I dedicate my life to you, O God. Take me, pardon me, polish me, keep me. Use me, O Lord, for the work you would have me do. and taking me, help me not to resist you. (Africa: prayer of a young pastor)

Transformations!

Transformations: The Capital Savings Fund Campaign

TRANSFORMATIONS! A GREAT START TOWARDS OUR GOAL Thank you to everyone who submitted pledges last week in support of Transformations. We received 29 pledges totaling over $111 thousand dollars for the three year campaign. That puts us over 20% towards our eventual goal of $475-500 thousand dollars. If you were not able to submit your pledge last week, please feel free to add it to the offering this week. The closer we get to our goal, the sooner our dreams to transform Ark and Dove can become a reality. Steve Debus, steven.debus89@gmail.com

Many opportunities await you!

PHOTO DIRECTORY
CHURCH PHOTO DIRECTORY Sign up now for pictures!  We are continuing to move forward with updating our church photo directory.  Online sign-up registration was emailed earlier this week or you can follow this link to register: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/30e0b44a8ab2aabf49-picture/10121560

We want everyone to be included so please sign up soon.  We are asking for a $10 donation to help with the cost of printing the directory.  You will receive a printed copy, and we will provide you a digital copy of the family picture for your use.  As announced in church on Sunday, we are simultaneously creating an online directory, which will be maintained on the church website in a members only section and password protected.  This will allow us to maintain a current directory and add photos of new families or new additions to families on an ongoing basis - saving us from having a massive project every few years to produce a new directory (YAY)!

We also have a second link to sign-up to volunteer during our picture days.  Each date we are doing pictures has a 4 hour time block.  We are hoping volunteers will sign up for one or more hours to greet families, confirm addresses, assist with flow of families in and out of picture room, and collect donations for the printed version of the directory.  Here is the link to sign up to volunteer: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0b44a8ab2aabf49-arkdove

Please assist us with this important project.  If you have questions, please contact Julia Kirby, maybe_soon98@yahoo.com or Ryan Stavely, ryan@stavely.org.

SUMMER BOOK CLUB
SUMMER BOOK CLUB Do you love to read? Have you ever finished a great book and wanted to talk about it with others? This summer, we will host a book club just for you! In June, July, and August, we will read a different book and come together for fellowship and discussion. June's book is The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. From Amazon.com: "Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, the #1 New York Times bestseller from Colson Whitehead, [the novel is] a magnificent tour de force chronicling a young slave's adventures as she makes a desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South."

Pick up the book and join us at church on Tuesday night, June 27 at 7 pm. Contact Pastor Jon ( jgnelson1985@gmail.com).
