Superintendent's Report
Principal Chala Holland thanked Student Council President Lauren Abbattista and Vice President Andrew Athenson for their service to the school and community. The students reported that it had been a successful end to the school year. Next year's Council President Trisha Bhagat was introduced to the Board.
Superintendent Mike Simeck commented that he does not believe the state will approve a budget in the near future. He noted that the House approved a school-funding bill that proposes changes to the school-funding formula, and commented that this was a positive step. This bill will now move to the Senate for consideration.
New Media teacher Steve Douglass recapped the 50 Years of LFHS Telecom celebration that occurred last weekend. Steve reported that over 300 attended this sold out event. Steve showed an interview with Vince Vaughn, a 1988 graduate of Lake Forest High School. He also introduced Bailey Lawrence, a recent graduate, and showcased some of her work. Bailey shared how the Telecom experience had impacted her and influenced her college choice. View video for complete report
Education Committee
Committee Chair Lise Eliot reported that the committee had not met. The committee has scheduled five meetings for next year and they are posted on the website.

North Shore Suburban Special Education District (NSSED)
Committee Chair Ted Moorman reported that the board had not met, but they held a successful 5K Walk/Run in May and are planning to host this event again next year.
