The Canadian Jewish Experience Until July 6 The Canadian Jewish Experience, was developed for  the sesquicentennial and opened in Ottawa this spring. Calgarian  Sandra Morton Weizman did the research and writing for the exhibit. The e xhibit will be on display at the Calgary JCC until July 6.

Building Community: A Walking Tour of Historic Jewish Calgary Sunday July 30 10:30am - 12:30pm  |  Meet: Municipal Plaza, by City Hall. His illustrated tour will highlight locations and stories important to the community from the 1880s to the end of the Second World War. Tisha B'av- Megillat Eicha Reading Monday July 31 9:00pm Tuesday August 1 7:45am and 6:00pm | Beth Tzedec Congregation Tisha B'av, the fast of the Ninth of Av, is observed each year as a day of mourning and commemoration by Jews worldwide. Please join us Monday night as we recite the Megillah of Eicha (Lamentations). Please remember to bring a flashlight.  August 1st is a fast day with prayer services. Please note that during the August 1st Mincha service at 6:00pm we don tefillin and read the special prayer "Nachem" for the only time during the year in anticipation of the redemption of the Jewish people.

Shalom Baby welcomes new babies and their parents to the Calgary Jewish community by providing free Shalom Baby gift bags filled with information, resources and gifts from Jewish organizations in the city.
