Chamber News

The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Keith Braun has been selected by the Board of Directors to serve as the President of the organization. Braun has served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors since 2014, as the representative for Paul Smith’s College where he serves as Director of Admissions. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead the chamber board,” said Braun, “we have a great group of leaders and wide variety of talents within the Board of Directors and the Chamber’s Professional Staff.”

According to Braun, the Chamber’s Board of Directors is currently engaged in a strategic planning process. The board has identified several topics that the Chamber will be a leader in addressing, including workforce development. With many different organizations working towards similar goals, the Chamber will also serve as the convener – bringing together many groups to best serve the community, execute events, and develop partnerships. The chamber will be presenting the developing strategic plan to its membership over the next few months.

“The Board of Directors is passionate about serving the Chamber’s membership and the greater Saranac Lake area,” Said Adrienne Relyea, the SLACC Executive Director, “there is a fresh energy in the chamber; I am looking forward to where we’re headed.”

Braun and Relyea agree that input from the chamber’s membership is a key to success. SLACC Members and other community stakeholders are encouraged to get involved in the chamber. For more information contact Adrienne Relyea, Executive Director, at [email protected] or (518) 891-1991.

Adirondack Research & Green Goat Maps

Ezra Schwartzberg, the founder of Green Goat Maps has been conducting research in the Adirondack Park. He discovered a need for high quality maps that outdoor enthusiasts could take with them to explore the region, and so, sustainable, durable, and accessible Green Goat Maps was born.

Adirondack Singers

The Adirondack Singers became a public, not-for-profit group in 1988 after a 20-year partnership with North Country Community College in Saranac Lake, NY. In June 2001, we became a tax-exempt organization.

Under music director Karen Buuters, we exist to stimulate and promote an interest in choral music; to provide a variety of fine choral music to the public of the area; to provide a venue for soloists and groups to perform in their own style as our guest artists; to coordinate choral groups in the Tri-Lakes region, including participation in the annual Messiah Sing-In and the Adirondack Festival of American Music; and to support local arts development.
