CALL FOR MURALISTS: FIFE AQUATIC CENTER
The City of Fife Arts Commission is seeking digital submissions for a mural to be applied on the outside wall of Fife Aquatic Center, located at 5410 20th St E, Fife, WA. The mural will be digitally applied to six panels using a custom high pressure lamination process. The proposal design should express a connection to the Fife Aquatic Center and its programs, utilizing the Fife brand color scheme. Artists are strongly encouraged to visit the actual site to get a visual concept of the wall and the interior of the Aquatic Center. The mural design must take place between July and August of 2017. Per City C
ode, "Mural" means a decorative design or scene intended to provide visual enjoyment that is painted or placed on an exterior building wall. A mural contains no commercial messages, logo, or corporate symbol.

Historical Photo Series

Pictured: In 2016, the Nakashima family from Japan visited the Fife History Museum. Their grandfather was born in Fife in the 20s, but moved to Japan as a child and lived there the remainder of his life. To our astonishment, his son and grandsons brought us his photo album, where we saw what we believe are the earliest photos of the Fife fountain in existence. Their grandfather is one of the small children posing in front of the fountain.
