Sweeten Partnership Focus

The Pace University SBDC is happy to partner with Sweeten , a renovation matchmaking platform that connects people with general contractors, offering personal support until the job is done.

Recently, we collaborated with Sweeten and a panel of business lenders to provide practical financial strategies and help assess the source of capital best suited for contractors. Attendees also learned about the loan programs available through the U.S. Small Business Administration, what lenders look for when evaluating a loan application, as well as typical loan terms and the documents required.

Pace SBDC Success Story: Arepera Guacuco

Since 2009, the Pace SBDC has helped client Leo Molina develop a business plan, financial projections, and a budget, as well as secure financing needed to open a trio of Brooklyn-based restaurants. The most recent restaurant, Arepera Guacuco opened in Bushwick in January, creating 15 new jobs.

$10K Downtown Digital Innovation Grant

The Downtown Alliance has launched the Downtown Digital Innovation Grant program. Under this effort, storefront businesses located within the boundaries of the Downtown-Lower Manhattan Business Improvement District can apply to secure a grant of up to $10,000 in services to build or revamp their business website, expand their social media presence, and assist with other efforts to help the businessescompete online.
