Education is important. Learning is a part of that education. We all need to learn the skills necessary to successfully make our way through life.
We should look at our education and learning as the development of those skills so we can actually put them to work in a positive way. Too often, we pursue educations and degrees in fields where there is no market. It sounded good, mom and dad said we should do it or, our friends are doing it so we should too
Too late we learn that there are not enough jobs or it is something we really don't like. How often we talk to people unhappy because of a dead end job feeling like they wasted the time they spent getting their education or their chosen career.
Whether just starting off in life or halfway through, we need to look both at what we really like and where the need lies and then learn the skills necessary. There are usually several options that satisfy both.
