Commander Bob Dowling shared the following message with President Deutsch regarding Al Wilson's final arrangements.  Al died suddenly on March 26, 2017.

On behalf of Jill, Scott, Kristi and the entire Wilson family, we’d like to thank you for all the beautiful calls, letters and messages of support we have received these past few days. While we are devastated by our loss, your love and kindness has truly helped us through this difficult time and for that we will be forever grateful.
As Al wished, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. All of you know he was not the kind of man who sought attention or wanted to put people out. However, we do plan to hold a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks for all his many friends and family to gather to remember all those legendary Alan Wilson stories, share some laughs and a few beers – just like he would have wanted. It will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, at the Hoffbrau in Westminster, 9100 Wadsworth Parkway.  We look forward to thanking you in person.
In the meantime, we would love for you to share your favorite Al stories and/or photos that we will compile for his children and grandchildren in memoriam.
Please send your submissions to ALWilsonMemorial@gmail.com .
If you’d like to make a contribution in Al’s memory, you may make your check out to the Westminster Citizens Academy Alumni Association – a group formed to enhance relations and public awareness between the community and the Westminster Police Department, where he proudly served for nearly four decades. Contributions can be sent in care of Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St. Longmont, CO 80501.
Again, please know how much we appreciate the thoughtfulness and kindness so many of you have extended to us. It’s overwhelming to think of how many lives Al touched over the years, but your memories provide us with untold strength as we cope with his loss.

We love you all,
The Wilson Family
