DUFF: How long have you been training at DUFF?
 Nik:  1 Year

DUFF: What brought you to DUFF?
Nik:  My wife signed us up for a couples training session. Heard about the classes and decided to try them.

DUFF: What is your favorite thing about DUFF?
Nik:  Excellent blend of cardio and strength training. Highly efficient workouts in small amount of time. 

DUFF: What is your biggest
 accomplishment at DUFF? Personal record? 
Nik:   Completed recent duff challenge in under 7 minutes.
20 Hand Release Pushups
20 Double Unders/ 80 Singles
20 Slam Balls

DUFF: What is your favorite exercises and/ or movement in DUFF classes?
Nik:  Tire flips

DUFF:  What is your least favorite exercise and/ or movement in DUFF classes?
Nik:  Burpees

DUFF:  What do you do for a living? Any children?  
Nik:     Gastroenterology physician. Expecting a baby girl in July.

DUFF: What is your favorite thing to do outside of DUFF?
Nik:   Spend time with wife and our puppy.

DUFF: What has DUFF taught you if anything?
Nik:   Always challenge and set goals for yourself. Biggest changes come over time with persistence, hard work, and baby steps.

 DUFF: Any additional comments?  
Nik:  Had a great year working out with you guys! Hopefully I can find a gym in Seattle similar to Duff Fitness!

DUFF invites you to bring any and all family members to join you for your workout! 
Show them what you do at DUFF! 
This includes one on one training, partner training, and DUFF Classes. 
All ages are welcomed!

at 9:00AM-10:00AM

Where: Isle of Palms, 25th Avenue

Come workout on the beach with DUFF!
You just need to bring a towel 
and  a lot of water. 
We will provide the workout!

Price: $125 for the week or $30 for the day

DUFF Kids Summer Camp will teach our youth 
fitness fundamentals, nutrition, and the importance of exercise.  Summer camp will consist of bodyweight exercises,  obstacle courses, team challenges, 
climbing ropes, cargo net fun, 
monkey bar madness, plyometric movements, 
jump ropes, rowing and more!

Recipe of the Month
Cauliflower Mashed "Potatoes"

Ingredients
  • 1 head of cauliflower/ 1 bag of florets (Trader Joe's sells cauliflower florets in a bag)
  • 3 tablespoons of nonfat milk
  • 1 tablespoon of organic unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper (seasoned to taste)
  • Snipped chives (optional)
Instructions
Separate the cauliflower into florets and chop the core finely or use the entire bag of already cut florets.  Bring about 1 cup of water to a simmer in a pot, then add the cauliflower. Cover and turn the heat to medium. Cook the cauliflower for 12-15 minutes or until very tender.  Drain and discard all of the water (the drier the cauliflower is, the better) and add the milk, butter, garlic salt and pepper. Mash with a masher or you can whip with a handheld blender until it looks like "mashed potatoes." Top with chives (optional).
