Boston Mayor, POAH and partners break ground on redevelopment in Roxbury
The
Whittier Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) is a collaboration between
POAH,
Madison Park Development Corporation and the
Boston Housing Authority to redevelop the
Whittier Street Apartments site in Roxbury. Originally built in the early 1950s, Whittier is home to 200 public housing families.
The Whittier neighborhood is rich in amenities and is home to some of Boston's anchor educational, civic and cultural institutions. Yet the underlying story of the Whittier neighborhood is the chronic struggle of the majority of its residents, who are among the poorest in Boston.

Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI 1st District) and Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza joined POAH and Rhode Island Housing at a ceremonial groundbreaking for renovations to take place at Oxford Place and Oxford Gardens affordable housing complex in Providence.

Tribune Apartments is a 53-unit affordable housing development for seniors and people with disabilities in the vibrant Irving Square Historic District of
South Framingham, MA. The improvements were made according to preservation requirements that honor its history as the Tribune Newspaper building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
