Rocky Mountain BEST Volunteer Newsletter
We are excited to introduce the 3 new BEST robotics logos associated with our BEST Robotics group. We are working on launching new websites in 2018 to feature these new logos. Our logos from left to right are:

  • Rocky Mountain BEST - our local nonprofit BEST hub 
  • Denver BEST- our new Regional Championship for all the Colorado BEST hubs
  • BEST Robotics, Inc. - our national organization

Wow, we are starting our 9th year of bringing free robotics competitions to Colorado and neighboring states! Each year has had a new game to challenge the students. Check out all the game names below.

We will be reaching out to schools in the next few weeks for the 2018 competition. If you know a school that is interested, please have the teacher email me at Linda.King@bestinc.org.
2018 BEST Robotics Game Announced - Current Events
We have received the draft rules for this year's game - Current Events. We and other BEST volunteers across the entire organization will be preparing in the next 6 months to make this another challenging competition for students.

All the details of this year's free middle and high school fall robotics competition will be revealed to competing schools in September. In case you missed it last time, BEST Robotics Inc. released this 90 second video teaser for the 2018 season competition.
Save the Date - 8 April Boosting BEST Fundraiser
Don't forget to mark Sunday 8 April 2018 on your calendar for our Boosting BEST Fundraiser at BAC Appliance Center in Englewood. We will again have a Silent Auction, 2 School Teams with their robots, Appetizers, Drinks, and a Cooking Demonstration.

Look for an invitation email to the event in March to join in the fun and help continue bringing free robotics to Colorado middle and high school students.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
The Monday Kit Team is already working most Monday's at 10 AM at our workshop located at 781 Vallejo in Denver. We are assessing the returned kits from the 2017 competition and conducting an inventory of all that was returned. No experience needed and extra hands are always helpful.

Aerospace Day at the Capitol - Monday 9 March
Join the Colorado Space Business Roundtable (CSBR), the Colorado Space Coalition (CSC), Citizens for Space Exploration (CSE), and the Aerospace States' Association (ASA), alongside their numerous aerospace partner organizations for a day at the Colorado State Capitol.

"A full day of networking and dialogue with our Colorado Legislators discussing how Colorado became one of the largest space economies per capita in our nation and how they can effectively support aerospace in our state."

Jose Lopez is supporting at the Metropolitan State University of Denver table and will have Rocky Mtn BEST information available.
