LAG BAOMER FESTIVITIES
Lag Baomer at Bais Yaakov Elementary was celebrated with much eager anticipation. Given that Lag Baomer was on a Sunday and Erev Shabbos looked rainy in the forecast, we extended the festivities across Erev Shabbos and Monday. All the celebrations were funded by the generosity of the Attman family. Mr. Lenny Attman came to school and spoke with our 2 nd Grade about how important Jewish Education is to his family and how proud he is of our students! We are too!

THIRD GRADE SIYUMIM
The Third Grades have completed another Parsha, Baruch Hashem. The moros really know how to excite the Talmidos into celebrating the chashivus of completing a part of the Torah. It is so sweet both figuratively and literally! May we continue to have nachas from all their successes!

THANK YOU TO OUR PTA!
We owe a tremendous amount of hakaras hatov to the PTA for funding so many activities here in Bais Yaakov. Just in the past month the PTA sponsored 3 trips for the Upper Elementary Division and a Shavuos project for each grade as well that enhanced the homes of our Talmidos in a very impressive and beautiful way. Enjoy these pictures of the projects, and the trips.
THIRD GRADE TRIP TO THE MUSEUM OF INDUSTRY
The Third Grade homeroom classes experienced a fabulous trip to the Baltimore  Museum of Industry this past month. The trip gave the girls some hands on understanding of the Industrial Revolution and how Hakadosh Baruch Hu allows us in our generation to benefit from technology in ways that make our lives easier than they used to be!

FOURTH GRADE TRIP TO THE SCIENCE CENTER
The Fourth Graders loved going on their annual trip to the Science Center. The girls participated in lots of hands on experiments and saw firsthand the wonders of Hashem presented in this museum.
FIFTH GRADE TRIP TO MAYOR PUGH
The Fifth Graders enjoyed their annual trip downtown to Ft. McHenry and to City Hall to visit with Mayor Catherine Pugh. They also had a wonderful chance to interact with our newest Councilman to city hall, the honorable Yitzy Schleifer! The girls made a very big Kiddush Hashem with their presentation to the Mayor and sang all about Baltimore! We are so grateful to the many parents who volunteered to chaperone these trips and those mothers who were able to join.

THIRD GRADE AMEN CHAIN
Have you ever counted to 10,000? Imagine the power of 10,000 Amens recited by the students in Morah Stein's  Third Grade class during the month of Iyar! For each Amen registered, the girls made another link in a chain. By the end of the month they had over 11,025 links in the chain that are now hanging in the auditorium. The chain went all the way from the nursery hallway until way past the auditorium! This is yet another example of how our students link to Hashem in our wonderful Third Grade!

FOURTH GRADE CHALLAH BAKING
The Fourth Graders in Morah Reidler's class did it again. They led a wonderful challah baking activity as Morah Reidler taught the girls how to make a 6 braid challah and then the girls in her class taught the other 4 th graders how to do it! They put on a beautiful skit and song, and made the whole school smell shabbosdik with the delicious aroma of fresh baked challos on E rev Shabbos!

FIFTH GRADE MAKKOS CARNIVAL
The Fifth Grade completed their unit in Chumash on the Makkos by hosting a makkos carnival. Each class celebrated the makkos in various ways by dressing up as Mitzrim or running carnival activities around the theme of one of the 10 makkos. The 5 th grade Moros really bring the learning to life!
