In the Field: Brandi dela Cruz
It's that time of the year when our pincushion fields start to look like fireworks displays that were pulled right out of the sky and tossed onto the steep hillsides. And when it comes to the 'Best in Show' display, there's no doubt Leucospermum Brandi dela Cruz takes the gold for its dazzling carpet of color and texture. A field full of blooms in rich golden-yellow with orange tints and each flower, large with a diameter of almost 6 inches.    Read More>

Farm Friends
The way we see it, everything is better with farm friends, including work. We're proud to count quite a few 'new' two and four-legged animals among the Resendiz Brothers team. Meet Orio, Rudy and Lucky Jr., our baby pups, Kity our kitten, a fleet of precious chicks and several adorable goats - which got us thinking: Why not share them with all our friends? Not only did they enjoy posing for the photos, but we think they will love living and working on our flower farm. Welcome to our family, guys and gals!   Read More>

Mel's Field Notes
Hello Friends!
John Lennon said it best: "All you need is love."  I couldn't agree more, especially this month when Valentine's Day rules. I really love being a flower farmer and growing so many amazing proteas and unique botanicals. Not a day goes by that I'm not astounded by nature's beauty!

Judging from the comments I've received so far this Valentine's Day... you too have been delighted with our holiday harvest, especially the gorgeous waxflower varieties!  The warm weather we experienced throughout the month of January certainly invigorated and enhance production. Everything was beautiful!  Now, with the holiday behind us I'd like to thank you for your support this month and over the years - I, as always appreciate it!

As Valentine's Day wrapped up, I headed back out into the fields and began clearing and planting a 43 acre parcel I acquired a little over a year ago. I am happy to say that this wonderful piece of land is now slowly filling up with an amazing array of new plants - something I'm looking forward to seeing in bloom in the years to come!  As a matter a fact, for those of you joining us here on April 7th for the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour... you'll have a great view of this new field!

Don't forget, March 8th is Women's Day!  Wondering how you can celebrate?  Well, you know my top pick: with Flowers, of course!  This day celebrates the accomplishments of women as well as recognizing their achievements and their struggles. My hat's off to the women in our lives!

Have a wonderful month of March and awesome start to spring!
