A message from the President & Founder, Lauren Genkinger
DIFFICULT TIMES - Last week I lost my 15 year old Finn, and I realized what a joy it has been to share my life with golden retrievers and why this rescue is so important to me. Not only do we get to give abandoned goldens a second chance in life, but we get to pick people and families and get them ready to share their lives with these wonderful dogs.
I can testify - 9 times - that goldens make your life better and we now want to hear from you why and how your AGA golden has made your life and your family's better.
Send a recent photo and tell us in your own words how your AGA golden has made your life better. We will post it on Facebook so our volunteers can see how important their work is!!!
We might even save them for another AGA calendar next year. Write us today.
P.S. - If you don't have your own golden and you foster for us, tell us how your AGA foster dog has made your life better.
ORPHAN OF THE MONTH
Riley
Our March Orphan of the Month - Meet Riley
When I first came to AGA I was only about 7 months old with more problems than one little golden deserved. My elbows and my hips needed surgery and I was in really bad pain all the time. I was afraid of being touched because I hurt so much and it made me crabby. My family couldn't afford all that I needed and so asked AGA to take me and help me find a home. After I got adopted, I did have my elbows fixed but the two special bone doctors wanted to wait until I was older to try and fix my hips. When my bones stopped growing, the special bone doctors decided the hip surgery might not be such a good idea and surgery might make them worse!
We're getting closer each day to our Golden Gala event
which will be taking place this year at Cobb Energy
Performing Arts Centre.
We will also have a silent auction & live auction and
for the first time the silent auction will be an online auction.
With an online auction, we're hoping to raise a lot more money!
Don't miss an opportunity
to give to Adopt a Golden Atlanta.
Come shop at Kendra Scott
Avalon & 20% of all
proceeds on April 17th
will go to AGA!
Can't attend but want to support AGA?
Your Kendra Scott purchases can still benefit our orphan dogs!
If I'm a dog, and I'm on a leash, and another dog invades my space, I'm gonna growl. That's just how I feel. Back the heck off, pal! I can't get away from you, on account of I'm on a leash!
