This past Saturday, during TankerTours for the MARY A. WHALEN's 79th birthday, we were honored to receive a Congressional Record from Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez along with high praise from her for our programs, community service and Carolina's "luchadora" tenacity.  Nydia, Councilman Carlos Menchaca, 150 happy people and one dog visited during TankerTime.  More...
Last Thursday, PortSide hosted a free continental breakfast on the occasion of the first Red Hook NYC Ferry. The goal was to spread the word in the community about the new ferry service, building on our years of advocacy for a commuter ferry. This happy day was covered  by Brooklyn News 12 and other media and a  Facebook live video by Carlos Menchaca.

Upcoming programs!
TankerTime ! every weekday from 10am to 6pm.   Second Sundays (next one is this Sunday, 6/11) from 5pm to midnight, with "WaterStories of the Wine Dark Sea" musicians jam at 9pm. Over a dozen musicians are confirmed for this one!

Existential Navigational Math! Thursday, 6/15 at nautical twilight, 9:02-9:44pm, Laurent Derobert from France will project images onto the MARY during his talk where where drift is passion and wanderings are the destination as he muses through the relationship between navigation, astronomy, mathematics and poetry.

Restoration work continues on the MARY A. WHALEN! Come check  her out!
