June: Filled with Celebrations!!!
June - word inscription on the gold sand sea beach.
June is definitely a month of celebrations.  It is filled with celebrating graduations and celebrating Dads.  It also celebrates Love as it is the most popular month to get married.   In fact, my wedding anniversary is June 29.  June is the beginning of summer although summer does not officially begin till the 22nd.  Summer represents a slower pace where we can forgo the hectic schedules of the rest of the year.  Let's all try to slow down and relax a little this summer.  Take a ride to someplace peaceful and spend a few hours.  Don't forget to pack a picnic and just chill out for a little while.

 Our Bags Are Packed
and We're Ready To Go.....

The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, St. Petersburg, Russia  Our next travel adventure departs June 8 as 35 of us head to Copenhagen for three nights.  Then, we board NCL's Getaway for 9 nights and cruise through Scandinavia.  We will visit Berlin, Tallinn, St. Petersburg,  Helsinki and Stockholm before returning home on June 21.  We will enjoy fully accessible shore excursions in all the ports.  An added bonus will be experiencing the summer solstice where there is almost 22 hours of light.  Stay tuned for a full report of our adventure in our July Newsletter.

New England & Canada
Escape With Us October 7-14, 2018
Norwegian Escape, round-trip New York
HURRY & RESERVE before they're GONE
We did this itinerary in 2014 and it is one of my favorite trips. Just ask the lucky people who sailed with us.  We all had an amazing time. We depart out of Manhattan and sail to Portland, Maine, Bar Harbor (may be tendered), Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John, New Brunswick.  The scenery is breathtaking and we should be on time for some beautiful changing colors.
This itinerary is in high demand.  Therefore, it is very important that you reserve your cabin as soon as possible or they may be pulled by ship inventory.  A deposit of $500 will hold your space and is fully refundable until June 15, 2018. Don't be disappointed.

Easy Access Travel Returns to ALASKA!!!
We will be doing another Alaska Group Cruise round-trip Seattle August 4 - 11, 2018.  This time we will be cruising with NCL on a ship being built specifically for Alaska, Norwegian Bliss.  She is not built yet but promises to be absolutely amazing with walls of glass for your viewing pleasure.  Complete details have been posted to my website.  We have just secured space and are anxious to share it with you.  NCL is known for the hulls on their ships being painted by famous artists.  The Bliss will have her hull painted by Wyland, famous for his paintings of whales and sea life that decorate many building walls on the West Coast.  We are also working on a two night Seattle pre-cruise adventure.
Please email or call to sign up.  Many cabins already spoken for.

2017 Spina Bifida Cruise is Huge Success

42 travelers with Spina Bifida, their family & friends, had a fantastic time on our 2017 Spina Bifida Cruise on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of The Seas in May.  I was not able to go as I fell and broke my hip. However, my dear friend, Shauna Mote, volunteered to take my place and saved the day!  She joined my niece, Rachel Part, who was my co-leader.  Both ladies did a fantastic job in managing the group and leading them on accessible shore excursions.  Everyone loved them and had a great time.
For those of you who attended, please send me some pictures.  Thanks!

Deb's Medical Update
& Travel Adventures

Please excuse me for not doing a May Newsletter.  I did my April Newsletter on April 27 and reported how well I was doing.  Walking was improving and I had just gotten my new van three days earlier. Well, as you were opening your emails on the morning of April 27, I was preparing to go to the gym and go swimming.  Not sure what happened but down I went!  I fell very hard on my left hip and broke it.  I was in so much pain that I never even noticed if the paramedics were cute!  I just know the pain was awful when they lifted me off the floor.  I had surgery on April 28. Fortunately, I did not need a hip replacement; just some screws.  After a few days in the hospital, I went to inpatient Rehab for a week.  I was very disappointed to miss the Spina Bifida Cruise for the second year in a row.  I'm happy to report that I'm healing very well and making great progress with physical therapy. Swimming has been the best thing for me and definitely is making a difference.
I have to walk with a walker for now but that too shall come to an end.
And now I'm off to Copenhagen!

Just Doing it a little Differently.....

Big Shout Out to Steve Kerper!

Steve, along with help from his daughter, Sarah, and granddaughter, Molly, did an amazing job manning the Booth at the New York Metro Abilities Expo in May.  They talked to many potential clients and gave out lots of important information.  Steve also gave our travel presentation on how to travel with special needs and received rave reviews from all.  It definitely "takes a team"!
