When you go to work, so do the burglars. There is little that a burglar loves more than an easily accessible unoccupied home. The strategy for success is simple, make your home look sound and occupied. Homes that appear to be unoccupied are welcome targets of opportunity.
With little effort, you can make your beloved home less appealing to criminals. Each week, tips on how to protect yourself and your home will be featured on Guac Talk.
This week's tip:
Maintain landscape and do not allow shrubbery to obscure doors and windows.
Everyone loves flowery landscaping, but it belongs nowhere near your door or windows. Never plant shrubs, bushes or trees in a manner where they obscure your doors or windows; they make it too easy for a burglar to hide, wait until your home is empty and then make their move.
