Dr. Jay Strack, Center, with the NBS Board, the General Director, the Elementary School Principal.
It was a joy for FON to introduce Dr. Strack to
this team.
|
Dr. Jay Strack, President and Founder, of Student Leadership University met with the NBS Board and its General Director and Principals in Nazareth on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
After several years of prayer and discussions between FON and Dr. Strack, it is exciting to report that SLU will begin the process of offering SLU 101 which will be designed specifically for students in Nazareth. The initiative will be in partnership with FON and NBS. Likely, the first SLU 101 will be in 2019.
Thank you for your prayers for this initiative and for Dr. Strack and his exceptional staff at Student Leadership University.

FROM THE PRESIDENT
After serving the local church for almost 36 years, 30 as a Senior Pastor, it's exciting to enter a new phase of ministry as President of Friends of Nazareth. I can assure you of this, I have a great love for the Holy Land, a great respect for Donna Chisam, and a great excitement for the Nazareth Baptist School. These are exciting times and I'm honored to serve our Lord and you in this strategic position.
I'd love to engage with each of you and to learn more about your interest in FON and the Nazareth Baptist School. I'm looking for a group of people who will be 'All IN'. Will you be one of them? What does an 'all in ' person look like? I'm glad you asked!
We need people who will INtercede-pray for this ministry and our impact in Nazareth and beyond. INVolved-why not consider joining us on a trip, work in a camp, visit the school, become an intern, and more. There are multiple ways one can be involved.
Finally, we need you to INvest. Your regular and generous gifts are greatly needed and appreciated. Perhaps you would consider sponsoring a child for camp. Each and every gift invests in the eternity of some child Jesus died for...thanks for your support!
As a pastor I often had to remind my church to be 'all in', now as your president I'm going to ask the same. Will you join many others in being 'All In'?
Yours for the Rising Generations,
Dr Roger D. Mardis, President

We are sad to show you a small sampling of the results of water damage at NBS. Nazareth has experienced rain in abundance over the past few months. Many rains have been heavy. Due to the age of the building, almost 60 years, the concrete is compromised by the water penetration. Rains falling on the top floors and in open areas are intruding on other levels of the school and causing significant damage. Additionally, the electrical grid is overloaded and needs to be fully upgraded to accommodate the demands. Please pray for the finances required to repair the building at the Main School. Just the electrical replacement is estimated to be $75,000, or more. This is going to be an expensive, but absolutely necessary, undertaking. It will require financial resources from a variety of sources. FON will accept funds to help NBS deal with these maintenance and repair needs.

Nine year old, Cooper Nichols, first row with black sneakers, traveled with his mother and Concord Christian School to NBS. He joined in with one of the classes. He learned to write his name in Arabic. And, he shared about Concord Christian School, Knoxville, Tennessee and the United States with his peers. The students enjoyed having a similar aged student present to them. Great job, Cooper!

NBS students learned about Martin Luther King from a group that uses music and drama to tell his story. The presentation was sponsored by the American Embassy. The group traveled to Tel Aviv to attend the presentation.
