We all (gosh sure hope you didn't miss it) had a wonderful time at our celebration last Saturday. Everyone was a winner receiving discounts on all our great fabrics, enjoying the games and drawings, browsing the clearance table and eating cake! We had balloons throughout the store because "it's not a party without balloons", I sincerely thank you for your support and friendship.
And "sew" we go... from the big 7th anniversary/birthday bash to preparing for the start of this year's Row by Row which kicks off on Wednesday, June 21st.
However you choose to go, just GO! Go visit your local and not so local quilt shops, receive your free pattern, buy a kit, buy a license plate, have fun. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling to the stores. Row by Row Experience™ began in 2011 with 20 quilt shops across New York State. Quick reminder about our upcoming classes, join CI Pam Hennings the Quilt in a Day class Blossom being held on Sat. and Sun., June 24th and 25th. Stitch and Sew with Barb Toth on Monday, June 26th is a new, all day free-style class. Spend the day in our large classroom, working on the project of your choice and in the company of other quilters. During June, July and August many will be working on a bargello pattern of their own choosing! This would be a fun time to think about making a bargello quilt or wallhanging if you've never done one before. Students are of course free to work on any other project that they might be interested in, as this is a time to have fun sewing in the company of fellow sewers!
Judy Neimeyer for Beginners is held monthly, and will take place on Tuesday, June 27th with Mary McElvain. This class is for the novice. We recommend that you take at least 2 classes, one to concentrate on reading the pattern and cutting, and another to become confident with this method of paper piecing. All students will work from the same table runner pattern ~ Cactus Flower. Ongoing instruction takes place.
AnglePlay Monthly and Beginning AnglePlay takes place on Wednesday, June 28th. Mary became a certified teacher in this method of quilting and invites you to join her to improve your skills and play with color. There is really good news for anyone who has tried AnglePlay® and has been discouraged because of cutting partial triangles from the original templates. There are now specific templates for the side and base triangles for A,B,C and D. These templates make the cutting process very, very easy and much faster. Come to an AnglePlay® class and discover for yourself the big difference. The other part of this news is that Off The Wall Quilts developed these templates after a suggestion by our very own AnglePlay class at Sun Valley Quilts!! As always, Mary will have templates for you to borrow in class to see how you like them before you need to purchase your own. For those of you new to AnglePlay® this development will make your experience so much easier and more fun. Come give it a try. We think you will be very happy with the results.
We have just a few of the hydrangea panels left, and we have ordered more of the ombre fabric used to surround the panel. The ombre fabric is due in any day. Our special color of the week, when you tell us, will be red! Red is exciting, it draws attention and when used as an accent can immediately focus attention to an element! Thanks for supporting and shopping with us, over the prior seven years and the many years yet to come.
