Happy Summer! Enjoy the longer days with friends at the many great events happening right here in Sandy Springs!
Work Continues on the City's Development Code

There is still time to provide your input on the Development Code changes underway in support of the City’s Next Ten Land Use Plan.  The May Open House was well attended, with comments and suggestions made related to proposed changes in the City’s zoning code. You can find the materials in progress on the next10.org web site, and comments will be accepted online until June 11th.

Level 2 Drought Response
Despite the springtime rains, the City remains under a Level 2 Drought Response issued by the Environmental Protection Division.  The designation limits outdoor landscape watering to two days a week, determined using the odd/even numbering system.  Check the City’s website for additional information on water restrictions

Second Annual Lantern Parade
Mark your calendar for the City's second annual Lantern Parade on June 10 at Morgan Falls Park.  The "Take It To The River" parade will begin at Steel Canyon Golf Club at 9 p.m. and will wind down to Morgan Falls Park. Don't have a lantern, learn to cre one at one of the lantern making workshops.

Beware of the Dog Days of Summer!
As the temperatures rise, so does the amount of 9-1-1 calls we receive about pets being trapped inside cars. According to SSPD, leaving Fido in a car with the A/C on and the motor running can make it easy to steal your car (and your dog).  Be pet smart and keep your pet and yourself safe (and hydrated) during summer's heat.

Grilling Safety
Summertime means bar-b-cue season. Outdoor grilling is one of the most popular ways to cook food. But a grill placed to close anything that can burn is a fire hazard. Sandy Springs Fire Rescue wants you to stay safe by following simple guidelines.
