THIS Sunday: how did a religion of the poor and powerless that emerged from the life of one Jewish peasant who taught humility and non-violence become THE religion of the most powerful military empire in the western world? Come and see.

Interesting tidbits from last Sunday: 1) some of Islam's ubiquitous prayer practices emerged from Eastern Christian influences and Muslims believe Jesus will return as God's prophet; 2) Christians in the Islamic and Chinese East were second class citizens who had no political or military power, and yet they thrived and expanded by wielding peaceful influence and developing intellectual and rhetorical skill.

The Longest Day is all about love. Love for all those affected by Alzheim er's disease. On the longest day of the year, thousands of people around the world
are teaming with the Alzheimer's Association by selecting an activity they love-- or an activity loved by those affected-- to help end Alzheimer's. On Wednesday, June 21,  Dr. Rob Foster will play solo flute meditations at Saint Paul's, interspersed with moments of silence for prayer and times for sharing our stories. We invite stories from the family, friends, and caregivers of people suffering from Alzheimer's to share their stories on this day. Please contact Marilyn Grau to add your name to this program.   The public is invited to stop by to listen, meditate, pray, and make donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
