Apply for the Northeast Farm to School Institute!

Whether you're a long-time Farm to School champion or looking to begin integrating these programs into your school community,
you're invited to form a team and apply for the  Northeast Farm to School Institute.

The year-long Institute kicks off with a Summer Retreat at Shelburne Farms June 26-28.  Spend the retreat developing your Farm to School action plan, networking with other practitioners from around the region, and taking part in teacher and nutrition staff specific professional development.

Farm to School Awareness Day

In over half of the schools across Vermont, Farm to School programming has impacted 157 schools, 45,000+ K-12 students, and 22 early care and education programs. The Vermont Farm to School Network advocated for the expansion of this work at the State House on February 7, Farm to School Awareness Day, testifying in front of the Senate and House Ag Committees and the House Education Committee.
"We believe that our work, our cooking, and the food we prepare is instrumental in supporting students' ability to learn and thrive in school and life. We're committed to making sure we're part of their education... Farm to School isn't an event to us, it's how we do business."

Local Procurement Trainings & Tools

We work with schools to provide better and more equitable access to local, sustainable food. To do this, we've developed several tools and trainings to guide schools through the process of deliberately cultivating their own food culture.
