GEPL Reads: Supplies 4 Success
Now through August 21
Read your way through enough fascinating, scintillating titles this summer and you'll help in-need kids get brand new backpacks and school supplies!

The Glen Ellyn Public Library is partnering with Supplies 4 Success, a locally-based charitable organization, that raises money to give in-need students in Glen Ellyn District 41 and Community Consolidated District 89 a school supply kit and backpack. When the community collectively reaches this year's summer reading goals, the Friends of the Glen Ellyn Public Library and the Glen Ellyn Library Foundation have pledged to provide funds that will buy supply-filled backpacks for 80 local children. Thank you Friends!
A big thank you to the Friends of the Library for once again sponsoring the Library's 11th annual Ice Cream Social. The  Library serve around 25 gallons of ice cream, 120 popsicles, 24 pounds of grapes, four large watermelons and many bottles of water . Over 375 people were dazzled by Jason Kollum's Comedy Variety Juggling & Balancing Show. 

The Friends Used Book Sale was packed as well. Not only did the Friends sell books, members also contributed to their donation jar.  Thank you for all you do!
The Glen Ellyn Library Foundation
Want to Walk in the July 4th Parade?
The Foundation is looking for children interested in walking with the library in this year's Fourth of July Parade. Children would help library staff promote the Foundation's upcoming  Jungle Book Ball. Contact Eileen Mullin-Gasteier, Ball Director, by email at  [email protected] to participate.

The Great Chicago Fire: A Musical Performance
Friday, June 23 | 7 pm | 800 N. Main St.
The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 was a devastating event with long-term consequences for the city and the region. Take a look back at this historic tragedy, and the stories of the people and places involved, through an artistic lens that incorporates music, song and an original story presented by musicians Amy Lowe and Megan Wells. 

Tickets for this award-winning production are priced at $12 for adults, $10 for Glen Ellyn Historical Society Members and $7 for youth under 18. Purchase tickets at Stacy's Corners Store or at the door.
