PRINCIPAL'S LETTER

Dear H oly Name Families,

Congratulations to our second graders on receiving their First Communion/ Special Blessing this past Sunday. It was a wonderful celebration!

Thank you to all of our families who supported this year's Auction.  The event was absolutely amazing, and we are so grateful to our Auction Committee for all their hard work and planning. They went above and beyond and the creativity and energy of the night was a testament to this. Thank you to all of you who helped. We look forward to sharing an update of what we made in the coming weeks.

Thanks to our families who helped with today's Chinese New Year/ Mardi Gras parties-the kids all had huge smiles on their faces today!

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. Lent is a time where we are called to refocus and live more simply while striving to be closer to God. Lent includes a focus on fasting, prayer, and alsmgiving/ service. Students will be learning about Lent in all grade levels and taking part in a school-wide Lenten reflection throughout the season. We will go to mass tomorrow at 9AM in place of our usual Thursday mass. You are all invited!

Junior High Progress Reports went home today. Please sign and return them to your child's homeroom teacher by this Friday.

HOLY NAME SCHOOL HAS ADOPTED A DRAIN!
San Francisco has more than 25,000 drains that need to be kept free of leaves and debris. Holy Name School has adopted the drain at 40th and Lawton. It is our job to keep storm water flowing smoothly and help minimize the impacts of flooding. SFWATER will supply us with vests, gloves and drain cleaning supplies!

If you would like to name our drain please reply to this email with your suggestion. A couple of drains have already been named 'Go With the Flow' and 'To Drain or Not to Drain'.
