2017 REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Scholarships

REALTORS® Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of educational scholarships. The Charitable Foundation received many outstanding applications. The selection process was competitive. These scholarships are provided through the generosity of all of SPAAR’s members.

The 2017 Scholarship Recipients are:

• Chelsea Montgomery, daughter of Tim Montgomery and Michele Lea Erving. Chelsea is graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington. She plans to attend the University of MN–Twin Cities, where she will major in business/political science.
  
• Ethan Brinkman, son of Rebecca and Chad Brinkman, is graduating from Northfield Senior High. Ethan plans to attend St. Olaf College, where he will major in Psychology.
  
• Terra Mann is the daughter of Cheryl and Chuck Mann. Terra is graduating from St. Francis High School. She plans to attend Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, with her major studies in nursing.
  
• Abigail Becker, daughter of Ron and Mary Becker, is graduating from Highland Park Senior High School in Saint Paul. Abigail plans to attend St. Olaf College, where she will major in Environmental Science.
  

Scholarship recipients will be recognized at a reception at SPAAR in early July.

SPAAR Accepting Nominations for Board of Directors

Consider being on the Board of Directors for the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS®. The 2017 Nominating Committee is looking to fill three director positions. This position has a three-year term and directors are asked to make attending all Board meetings a priority. SPAAR is also accepting applications for three officer positions: Treasurer, President-elect, and President.
How will I benefit? As a Board Member you’ll have:

• Opportunities to both learn from and teach others
  
• Direct involvement in decisions that affect the association
  
• A broader professional network of members, the community and civic leaders
  
• New experiences that develop professional and personal skills
  
• Social opportunities that often lead to lasting friendships

June is License Renewal Month: Review Your CE Transcript

All licenses are on a two-year renewal cycle. All agents are required to complete at least 15 hours of approved Continuing Education every year, for a total of 30 in each renewal cycle. The 2016 - 2017 module requirement is "Residential Contracts.”

The deadline for continuing education credits is June 30, 2017 (Agents should check with their broker as their deadline could be earlier). Make sure you have met all your requirements by visiting www.pulseportal.com and following the INSTRUCTIONS TO VIEW YOUR CE TRANSCRIPT. Note: In order to receive an email notification in the case of license suspension, please make sure that your email address is current with the MN Department of Commerce.

Registration Now Open for the REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament

REALTORS Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament is July 24 at MendakotaCountry Club. A long-time SPAAR tradition, the roots of this tournament reach back to 1923. This classic was established "in recognition of the spirit of cooperation within the membership."
