Talent Center Career Services:
Looking for your next career opportunity? Check out the career and outplacement services available through Talent Center?  Most employers are looking for individuals that are an ideal fit for the positions they seek to fill.  Unfortunately, today's employers don't have the time or inclination to study your work history and education to decide if you are a fit. Instead, employers expect you to illustrate your fit by creating a job specific resume that allows an employer to conclude in less than 20 seconds, that you know their job and possess the qualifications; work experience; and education that makes you that ideal fit. By including some key accomplishments that quantify results of your work efforts, an employer comes to see you as a candidate that is goal oriented and performance driven.

Talent Center staff offers a variety of career and outplacement services for graduates and professionals in transition. We offer resources to help improve your social media branding and ramp up the soft skills that employers value. Our team of Certified Professional Resume Writers (CPRWs) offers individual coaching and resume guidance and also focuses on making sure you are prepared to nail the interview. Our no fee services may be just what you need to sharpen your marketing focus and get the job offer! Check us out at  talentcenter.org or call 352-840-5762.

At 10:00am on June 9th 2017, twenty-nine students who began the Fire Fighting and EMT combined program on January 9th graduated at the Florida State Fire College. Approximately 400 proud friends and family members, as well as Commissioner Gold, MCPS Superintendent Heidi Maier and director of MTC Mark Vianello were present at the graduation to support the achievement of these brave students. The Fire Fighting and EMT program provided through MTC at the Florida State Fire College is a vigorous and challenging program that produces some of the best Fire Fighters in the state of Florida.

Several awards were given to deserving students.  Kristian Harding, one of the students in this program, was our first female African-American student to achieve the Top Gun Award, which is an award chosen by the instructors to the student who displayed a high level of excellence in all they did.

Robby Kalaf, received the Wormser Award for Inspiration which is an award chosen by the students given to a fellow classmate who inspired and motivated others and displayed lead ership qualities.  Micheal Jachelski, received the Academic Award for achieving the highest GPA in the class at 98% (4.0 gpa). Star & Shield Insurance awarded two students with a $500 check to be used towards their future endeavors, Billy Cipriano and Demetrius Sweeting were the recipients of
 this grant.

During the ceremony, Polar Breeze presented a donation to the instructors of the Fire Fighting program of a state of the art cooling system valued at over $5000. The cooling system is designed to quickly bring down the temperature of a fire fighter who may suffer from heat exhaustion after exiting a live burn building. We are very grateful to PolarBreeze for this generous gift.

As one crowd left the campus celebrating with their graduates, another crowd was arriving to celebrate the next class in the Fire Fighting I/II program. These students are those who had already obtained their EMT certification prior to attending our program. Over 200 friends and family members were present to celebrate with these 13 students. Paul Alois, a former professor who decided to take a career change was awarded the Academic Award for achieving the highest average of his class at 97% (4.0 gpa). Austin Savarese was awarded the Wormser Award for Inspiration, and Wesley Markham, a father of four and business owner, was awarded the Top Gun Award.

We are very proud of all of our students accomplishments!

Phlebotomy Students
Nineteen Phlebotomy students took the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam recently. Phlebotomist certification and course completion is 100% once again, as all students passed.

NHA certifications tell an employer that a graduate is well-prepared and ready to do a good job.

Congratulations to Mr. Steven Monday and Ms. Pam Bedford, instructors at MTC for training these students so well.
