Avoid Travel Scams
Unfortunately, increasing numbers of international students are targeted by scams. Please review this information to learn how to protect yourself from potential scammers.

Beware of travel "brokers" who promise to book your international flights for lower costs. You can spot these scammers when they require you to pay up front in order to secure tickets.

Avoid this scam by:
  • Doing your research. Search the internet to see if a great deal you find might be a scam.
  • Talking to an attorney at Student Legal Services (SLS) if you suspect a scam.
  • Not feeling pressured to pay. Do not conduct business with a company or person that hurries you to make a payment.
  • Knowing that if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
For more guidance on avoiding scams, please visit the scam page of the Student Legal Services website. If you believe you are the victim of any type of scam or fraudulent activity, or are concerned about potential scams, please schedule an appointment to speak to an SLS attorney (visit studentlegal.osu.edu or call 614-247-5853).

Enjoy Better Prices for Entertainment Events with D-Tix
This summer, take advantage of Ohio State's Discount Ticket Program (D-Tix), which offers tickets to Columbus-area shows, museums, concerts, sporting events and more at an exclusive rate.

Because D-Tix is funded by the student activity fee, it is only available to current Ohio State undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Students can get their D-Tix tickets at the Information Center in the Ohio Union.

Tickets are currently being sold for the Memorial Golf Tournament and the Buckeye Country Superfest. To learn more and keep up to date with future events, visit activities.osu.edu/programs/dtix.
