Prayer of  Invitation
"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, in God's Word I hope; My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning, more than those who watch for the morning." Ps 130:5,6
As we go forth on our Lenten journey, do not be surprised if we run into a roadblock. Life is like that.  We start on a certain path and run into construction on the street. We send a message on our computer and receive a message that there is no such address or unknown recipient.
Our roadblock on our spiritual journey may be as frustrating as these examples but perhaps the detour we need to take is an opportunity to wait for the Holy. We must wait...wait for and in the Lord.
Waiting gives us gifts. It allows us to focus on the present moment; What is happening now, asking what is there right here, in front of me, that I can enjoy or care for?  Are there poems in the brain that I haven't written down, a note I have delayed sending, a book unread?
That roadblock to my well-intentioned goal or sacrifice for Lent may direct me to....Read more..

Methodist Men are getting ready for their Annual Pork Steak Dinner.  SUNDAY MARCH 4TH
Here we go again with LOTS OF GREAT FOOD! The Methodist Men are back again with their tremendous Pork Steak Lunch on Sunday, March 4th! To-go plates only of pork steak, green beans, corn and potatoes will be available for pickup from 915 am to 1245 pm on Sunday, March 4th in Wesley Hall or by drive-up pickup behind the Church gym on Glass Street. Beginning Sunday, February 18th, $9.00 per plate tickets will be available in advance from the Methodist Men during the Sunday School classes and between Sunday church services. Tickets will also be available during the week at Twice Blessed Showroom and at the Church Office. Please buy your tickets early---the Men completely sold out last year in the middle of the Sunday event last year and some were not able to buy tickets after the 1040 am and Ignite services and get plates of food. This fundraiser funds some wonderful scholarships for local Boy Scouts and donations for local charities. SO SAVE THE DATE!

Homebound Communion needs you
The Congregational Care Committee is seeking volunteers to join the Homebound Communion ministry team. The purpose of the Homebound Communion ministry is to extend the Lord's Table by serving the sacrament of Holy Communion to members of our worship community who are unable to attend church worship services due to physical and/or health restrictions.
As a Homebound Communion volunteer, you can serve individually or as a two-person team, and take the prepared and consecrated elements of Holy Communion to members that are homebound or in assisted living/nursing homes. Each volunteer or team serves one Sunday, three times a year, and instructions are provided on what to say and what to do.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this important ministry, please contact Ashley Jett at [email protected] or
(979) 224-5544.
