Your tax dollars at work: A weekly update on bond/override/construction
activity at SUSD schools. Check out what we're up to this week.
Scottsdale Unified School District | Bond Update 5/26/17

Thank you for signing up for weekly updates on bond & override projects within SUSD. We are committed to transparency through this process, and we welcome your feedback. Like you, we can't wait to see our new schools go up and our existing schools improve.

SAFETY REMINDER!
Construction Zones are Off Limits!

Now that construction is underway on the football fields at C oronado, Saguaro and Chaparral, we want to remind everyone that these areas are closed to the public for safety reasons. We have had a few isolated reports of people using the construction areas for recreation (running the bleachers, etc...)

While security measures are in place, some determined people may find ways to trespass. Please encourage others to be safe and find other areas for recreational activity. Safety and security is our top priority.

WEEKLY PROGRESS

On Wednesday, June 1, the Governing Board approved spending of override funds on life-cycle projects at almost every school for summer and fall of 2017. This will include building maintenance, classroom door security and new cameras.

Also on Wednesday, the Governing Board got their first look at design plans for the new buildings and traffic plans for Cheyenne. Those plans included changes to the new gym facility based on community feedback, including locker rooms and a centralized office to oversee the court. Thank you for your input!

Finally, this week, a question about whether Hohokam will be able to keep its kiln when the school is rebuilt was resolved. Good news, young Hohokam artists! We're pleased to report, you will have a kiln!
