This Sunday we celebrate our fantastic choir during Choir Appreciation Sunday.
Reflections on Worship . . .
Acts 2:1-21
"Signs and Wonders"

This Sunday we will observe Pentecost - the season of the church year where we recall and remember the giving of the Holy Spirit to the early church community. The unleashing of the Spirit of God on the people was a disconcerting and strange event. With wind, fire and strange speech, the power of God was given to the early followers of Jesus. They were transitioning from a community with Jesus physically present to a community where Jesus was spiritually leading them. It was a time of great wonder, fear and maybe even a little bit of excitement! We too are blessed with the Spirit of God in our midst - sometimes in quite dramatic ways; other times in a less showy manner. But we know when God's Spirit is guiding us - we feel enveloped and borne up by the mysterious power of the Divine. There is nothing more energizing than that! Come and join us for worship on Sunday as we explore these themes. It is also Choir Appreciation Sunday when we say a big "THANK YOU!" to our choir who has lovingly showered us with music all year. We will also thank our new Musical Director Connie Washburn who has finished her first season with us and our newly re-formed Bell Choir under the direction of Paulette Westphal. See you Sunday for all the fun! Wear red/orange/yellow if you wish.

We will have our Spring Business Meeting beginning after worship/Coffee hour. Please bring healthy food to share and drop it off in the kitchen to the staff on your way to worship.

Dear Friends and Sweet Children,

Irene's celebration It has been over a week since my amazing celebration. My heart is still full with all of the love that was shown to me that day. The time spent with you will remain in my memory as long as I live.

Your cards and the children's artwork are hanging in the alcove of my dining room and the gorgeous roses and gifts on my coffee table are a wonderful reminder of my special day.

A sincere thank you for the "love offering," I was overwhelmed by your generosity.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I love you all,

Irene Phillips xo

Join Us, Saturday, June 10th,
March Home

I hope this finds you well! I wanted to personally reach out to invite you and your Adopt a Meal group members to Union Station's upcoming event,
March Home, happening
Saturday, June 10th from 8am-12pm in front of Pasadena's City Hall.

March Home is a mission-driven walk to end homelessness, and participants will be able to walk from City Hall to all three of our permanent supportive housing locations. The event will culminate with a finish line festival featuring live music, food trucks, and other fun activities. We'll also be featuring speeches from former clients, staff, and city officials.

For more than 40 years, Union Station Homeless Services has been fighting for the rights and needs of individuals experiencing homelessness in Pasadena. This event will help us to continue bringing awareness to this important cause, and we would love to see you there!

You can register here:  http://unionstationhs.org/event/march-home/
And please feel free to share this info with any friends and family who you think might want to walk to end homelessness!
We'd love to see you and your group at March Home!
 Thank you for your support!
