Code Enforcement Reminder

Drainage Issues

The Village of Hanover Park receives many calls about water drainage issues. The accumulation of water can be a result of several factors. Two of the more common factors are:
  • Improper discharge of sump pumps. Discharge shall not be less than five feet from the property line.
  • Obstructing water flow. This is often a result of a landscape modification or illegal structure that prohibits the designed flow of water.
If you have a drainage issue that cannot be resolved with your neighbor, please contact the Code Enforcement Unit at (630) 823-5570.
