+ Worship

As you might have guessed by looking at the artwork above, this Sunday is Pentecost. Together we will celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit's presence and guidance, both in our lives and in the life of the church.

We will also install new (and returning) members of the Congregation Council, praying that the Holy Spirit will guide their efforts to lead Nativity faithfully.

As always, there is no dress code for worship at Nativity. Even so, if you have anything red and/or festive, this would be the Sunday to wear it!

CONGREGATIONAL FORUM
RECAP

A couple of weeks ago we held a congregational forum to give an update on how things are progressing here at Nativity. The highlight of the forum was the announcement that Michele Grush has accepted our offer to return to Nativity as our new
Parish Administrator!

Because there was so much material to cover in a short amount of time, we have condensed the content of the forum for those who would like a review:

to a recording of the forum.
(note: you'll probably need to download the file due to the size)

of the content of the forum.
+ opportunity to share your gifts this summer!

It's summer once again, and the musical ensembles are just about ready to take their annual break. This means there are ample opportunities for you to offer your musical gifts for anthems on Sunday mornings!

If you are interested in singing a solo, or joining your voice in a duet, or playing an instrument, or offering a liturgical dance, or just about ANY artistic expression of your faith during the offerings this summer, please sign-up on the board outside the choir room. Pastor Gregg and Gary Mitchell will contact you and explore possibilities. If you would rather discuss your ideas with Pr. Gregg first, let him know by clicking here
+ nativity women

The Nativity Women's Group will meet  Thursday, June 29 , at 11:00 am in the fellowship hall. Please note this change in date from our usual meeting time. There will be no meeting in July. All women are invited to bring a bag lunch and join the  study of John's Gospel and  conversation. For more information, please call Linda Blake, 684.8378 or email at [email protected].

The Nativity Card Ministry will meet Thursday, June 29, at 12:30 pm in the church fellowship hall. Men and women are invited to attend to make cards that are sent to our members on the prayer list. If you can follow the simple directions of cut, fold, and paste, you are able to make a card. Ruth Tracy, 628-7807, leads us through the steps to make beautiful cards that remind people they are in our prayers. There will be no meeting in July. Again, please note this change in date from our usual monthly time.

Lunch Bunch will meet on Thursday, June 22, at 1:00 pm. Susan Montella, 828.232.9918, is our hostess. Please call her so she can make a reservation for you. More information on the restaurant will be coming soon.

and thoughts for our daughter, Jen Blake, as she is deployed in the Arabian Gulf. Jen is a Chief Petty Officer stationed aboard USS George H. W. Bush, an aircraft carrier with a crew of approximately 4,800 sailors and Marines. She works in the Media Department which is responsible for all TV, radio, print, photography, and social media items. The ship is halfway through its mission and the support from home means a great deal to all of the crew. It means a great deal to us as well.

During the first two weeks of summer, NPK is hosting summer camp from 9:00am-12 noon.  It's very similar to VBS with story time, singing, crafts, snack, and playground time. Click here to get an idea of what summer camp looks like at NPK!

+ When are you going to camp this summer?

We want to support our youth as they attend camp this summer, and Nativity's custom is to lift them up in prayer during their week of camp. In order to do this, we need your help!

Please email the office ( click here) if you have one or more children attending camp this summer. Let us know when they are going, that way we can pray for them on that Sunday as a part of our worship at Nativity.
