Cures4Cats Design Contest
Enjoy the winning entries

Thank you to all the participants who submitted their entries for the Cures4Cats Design Contest. All were very clever. Selecting our winners was not easy.
  
The first place entry selected by the panel of judges was "A Leaping Cat" designed by Teresa Keiger of Greensboro, NC. A graceful cat reaching for the best that Winn can offer our cat companions.




 
Winn also selected a very special "Special Mention" entry by Alyssa Moore of Oak City, UT. 

Alyssa is a 7th grader who lives in the country with her mother, Holly, and also with a large number of house and outdoor cats. Alyssa's entry says "CATS" in its entirety. Her drawing engaged the panel of judges along with the photos of her cats that she took herself.

With the legalization of marijuana for recreational or medicinal use in many states of the U.S. in recent years, veterinarians have also seen an increase in toxic exosures in companion animals.  Not all cannabis is alike, however. The Cannabis sativa  plant has two main cultivars or strains - marijuana and hemp. Learn more  about their differences and the potential applications for hemp-based products in the management of diseases or conditions in dogs and cats - including arthritis, cancer, and anxiety.


Two Veterinary Student Scholarships Available
Scholarship Opportunities for 2018 and 2019 Graduates 

Winn and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) are partnering again to provide a two scholarships for  veterinary students enrolled in an accredited veterinary college or school in the United States or Canada. 

The two $2500 awards are based upon academic achievement, financial need, leadership, and dedication to and excellence in the study of feline medicine, health and welfare. One $2,500 scholarship was available for a veterinary student with a feline practice interest and the second $2,500 scholarship for a veterinary student with a clinical scientific research interest. 

Deadline for the return of the 2018 Scholarship application is March 23, 2018 .
