Hi Faith Formers and Christian Ed Masterminds!

It has been so long since we have connected to share stories and ideas with one another. Whether you are paid staff or a lay leader, if you find yourself in the middle of the educational ministries of your church, please join us at City View Diner in Whitehall on Friday June 9 at 9:30am. Hope to see YOU! Email or text me if you can make it so I know how big of a table to save for us
Peace,

Children's Sermon
for June 4(based on Acts 2 reading):
Items needed:  Unpopped popcorn, popped popcorn, 2 clear bowls.  Ask, who likes popcorn?  Let's have some popcorn now!   Pour unpopped popcorn into one of the bowls.  Tell kids to go ahead and have some.   What's wrong?  This IS popcorn, but it isn't popped.  To pop popcorn, you have to heat it up-in the microwave or a pot.  When you heat up these kernels of popcorn, they pop open to become this (pour some popped popcorn into the other bowl.)  In today's Bible reading,  God sends the Holy Spirit into some followers of Jesus, and they pop open, kind of like heat pops open popcorn.  The heat of God's Spirit  warms up the hearts of believers so that they want to share the love of Jesus with other people.

Sabbath Reading for Preachers is a 3-day retreat gathered around six works of literature and ample time to discuss them.  We share good books, good conversation, good food, and good fellowship - all with an eye to becoming good preachers.
This year's retreat will be held October 24th - 26th at Mariawald Renewal Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Thanks to the generosity of the Center for Excellence in Preaching at Calvin Theological Seminary we are able to offer this three-day event for only $200 - this includes lodging (single occupancy), meals, books, and 2.5 CEUs.
