How You Make A Difference

It was about five years ago when Jennifer Zaragoza found the Society for disABILITIES recreational, social and educational programs.  At first, Jennifer didn't believe these programs existed.  Jennifer had spent the last nine years looking for something for her son Josiah.  When Josiah was three he was diagnosed with autism and intellectual disabilities.

Since learning about Society for disABILITIES, Josiah, now 17, has participated in Bowling, Day on the Farm, Ice Skating, Miracle League (pictured), Prom, and TopSoccer (pictured).   Josiah gets excited about all the programs and marks the dates on the calendar as they are announced.

Jennifer stated that prior to attending the Society's programs, Josiah was on the anti-social side.  Now he is getting friendlier with other kids and family members.  He can now make friends!

The Prom gives Josiah the chance to get dressed up and dance, two things he enjoys doing.  J osiah's mom said it best, "everything at the Society's programs relates to him!"  Jennifer also shared that she is pleased that Josiah feels he must go to Bowling and try in all programs. Both Jennifer and Josiah are grateful that the Society offers many programs and they can choose what activities to do.

Many Thanks for Crab Feed!

As this year's recipient of the annual Crab Feed coordinated by  Dallas Marsh, Nancy Breshears and committee including June Brown, Kelly Cleary, Joan Fischer, Jackie Fried, Kim Hickman, Barbara Hutton, Tasha Hutton, Cindy James, Kelly Lebherz, Stacey Marckese, Jamie Marksman, Garrad Marsh and Kathy Robey.

The Society for disABILITIES is honored and thrilled to receive the support of everyone.   We are greatly appreciative of the sponsors, ticket purchasers, dessert donors, auction donors and volunteers.

The event was wonderful!  The food was great, the dessert auction was very eye catching, the silent auction went on for miles and the live auction had many extraordinary items.

See the wonderful pictures from the event on our Facebook Page.  Click here to visit the Crab Feed Album on our Facebook Page.

Do you like to ski or snowboard?  And raise needed funds for Society for disABILITIES' programs?  Then join the fun and form a team for Snowfest 2018!

In honor of the Society for disABILITIES' 71st Anniversary we will have a 70's theme and costume contest, plus much more including prizes for the individual who raises the most money and the team that raises the most money!
