When Disaster Strikes
Scanning Sessions
Saturday, June 3
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
 
Pediment publishing is thrilled to give readers the opportunity
to submit historic photos for their upcoming  When Disaster Strikes
book project. If you have photographs that meet the guidelines
below, please bring them to the scanning session.

Photos will be scanned on-site and given right back to you.

Submission Guidelines
    • Photos taken in the Southeastern Connecticut area.
    • Photos taken during the 1800s-today.
    • Photos only - preferably original photos (no newspaper clippings or photocopies).
    • One submission form per photo.
    • Limit 10 photos per family. No appointment necessary.

print a submission form or pick one up from The Day office.

Please join us for this  class to learn how to access this multi-media software and harness all that is available to you at 
the Public Library of New London.
 
All you need to get the most out of this class is your library card and
 a working email account, and you can access the Learning Express Library material from anywhere, at anytime.

3D Printing Guided Workshop Tour

We will be covering the basics on the CubePro Duo 3D Printer .

In this guided tour attendees will learn how to choose pre-designed
STL files and how to slice them into Build Files using popular
software applications such as Thingiverse. We will be printing a light
3D object together that will finish before the class is through and walk attendees through the entire process from start to finish.

Each attendee will recieve a list of recommended and popular
pre-built STL file catalogs as well as a selection of sites that you
can build your own STL design without having any experience.

Stop by the library to sign up for Summer Reading, and join
the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut for an
interactive program.

Children will participate in a hands-on, water filtering activity
to explore the sources and effects of water pollution. Using ENVIROSCAPE, a watershed model, children will learn about
water conservation. This program is intended for grades 3 to 6.
