SACC-Austin

SACC-Dallas

SACC-Houston

Dear all,

SACC-Texas left May behind with some very successful events, packed seminars and exciting plans for the months ahead. W e are now busy working with our last events before the summer break which will be a mix of Swedish culture, tradition and business. H ow about Swedish National Day celebration in Houston, Midsummer celebration in Austin and a speaker series on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and startup scene in Dallas and more. A good mix right?

A lot is happening in SACC Texas and we hope you are noticing that we are working hard to develop our business community for the sake of our members. We love to hear input from you, so if you have any questions or suggestions, we are only an email away.

Finally, the SACC-Texas team would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a great summer!
Dallas, Texas:   Gwen, we are glad to have you as a Business Member of SACC-Texas. Can you please tell us a bit about yourself and your background? What made you open a Scandinavian shop in Dallas?
I moved here from Minnesota 1985. I was amazed that I could not find anything Scandinavian. I got a job as a leasing agent for an apartment complex. I begin to see the flow of people moving here from all over the United States and the world. That fall I went to the state fair and to my pleasant surprise, there was the Norwegian Society of Texas and the Viking ship.

We would like to welcome our latest hire to the Chamber

Austin, Texas: Meet Andreas Drakenberg, our new Marketing & Event Intern. Since arriving in Texas earlier this year
he 's been occupied planning and coordinating events for our chapter in Austin.

What's your connection to America?
I can't say that I have one, apart from the general fascination I perceive most Swedes to have. I did, however, prior to moving here, travel across North America during the summer of 2016 and that sparked an interest. There was something about the American mind-set that appealed to me. The American "Go for it, and go for it"-approach is truly inspiring in my opinion.
