KLAMATH TO RECEIVE NO WATER DESPITE RECORD RAIN
Last Friday, CWA sent a letter to U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, asking him to ensure a reliable water supply for the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge, this year and in the future. Despite an above normal water year, the Bureau of Reclamation has not allocated any water for the refuge in its annual operations plan. Secretary Zinke oversees the Bureau and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which manages the refuge and protects endangered species in the Klamath Basin. The Lower Klamath NWR has suffered with little or no water for the past five years, due to government decisions that have favored endangered fish species over waterfowl.

Click here to read the read the letter and we'll keep you posted on our progress on this critical issue.
